The Good News on the Western lowland gorillas

The Wildlife Conservation Society, announced on Tuesday that they have discovered 125,000 of the reclusive, and shy Western lowland gorillas living deep in the jungles of the Republic of Congo. The newly discovered gorilla population, now doubles the number of the gorillas previously estimated. This is great news for Africa and all those who care for and love our Planet.

All gorillas, like many primates, are on the endangered list. The lowland gorillas are found in tropical forests and swamps in Angola, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. Their numbers have been drastically reduced in the last few years, mainly due to their being hunted for meat. In some parts of Africa, gorilla meat is more expensive than any other meat.

We celebrate this new discovery. At the same time, if the newly found gorillas have to survive and thrive - they need to be better protected. And those who eat gorilla meat, should be educated on the importance of preserving the animals; and they be given other alternatives to feed themselves, as it's hunger sometimes - especially with the present soaring food prices, that drive people to hunt for wildlife; even such as those closely related to us Mankind, as gorillas. Otherwise, the revelation of this new discovery - might only endanger the animals' survival; those seeking profit, now know where they can easily find gorilla meat in abundance.

It's very shocking and extremely disturbing that, there are some people who deny that there was Genocide in Rwanda ; there are those who have been trying hard to spread lies and propaganda and twist real facts and the truth about the Rwandan genocide; there are those who deny that , it took meticulous planning - resulting in about 800,000 Tutsis and some Hutus, systematically being brutally butchered, in Rwanda, in 1994: .........thousands of children butchered individually, by machete. Dinder - Sudan Situated in the East of the country, very close to the Ethiopian border, about 400 km. (205 mi.) south-east of Khartoum - Sudan's capital city, is Dinder National Park (DNP) - some times called Dinda ( In Arabic: محميه الدندر ) . Covering about 6,475 sq. km. (2,500 sq. mi.) - some estimates say the park covers a much larger area; which would make it one of the largest in Africa. Established in 1935, it is the most important wildlife reserve in Northern Sudan. It is one of the two parks in the country  designated as Biosphere Reserves . The other is Radom National Park (RNP) in southern Darfur.
